Project Description:

We are looking to determine the localized enrichment from septage on the foreshore of Okanagan Lake near known water intakes and compare them to the adjacent natural shoreline. The study will include periphyton analysis and water chemistry with sampling occurring from June to October 2020. At the completion of the study period the consultant will prepare and submit a final report to the RDCO in December 2020. All data and information from the study will be used to supplement our Source Protection Plan for two of our water systems that use Okanagan Lake as their source. This study will also be made available to other stakeholders and organizations who also use Okanagan Lake as their Drinking Water Source.
