Project Description:

Mission Creek is the largest single source of water to the Okanagan system, providing about 25% of Okanagan Lake inflows. The Mission Creek Restoration Initiative (MCRI) is the enactment of vision, planning and passion for the important values that Mission Creek brings to the Okanagan Valley and to the Central Okanagan in particular. Behind that enactment and supporting its action steps is the Mission Creek Working Group comprised of representatives from local, provincial and federal governments, First Nations, non-governmental organizations, individuals and businesses. The goal of this project was to develop an education and outreach campaign centered upon a branding initiative , including a logo design and the launch of a website. The website aims to create an emotional connection that not only informs users about the MCRI and the numerous environmental, social, economic and cultural benefits associated with Mission Creek restoration, but also educates them about history, resource development and importance of water, basin-wide.
