Water, Water (Every) Where?

Project Year:

2011

Project Budget:

$50

WCQI Grant:

$22

Organization:
Okanagan Science Centre

Project Description:

Funding for the Water, Water (Every) Where project allowed for the development and delivery of the “Water Safari” summer day camp for children on water conservation and preservation; the “Water, Water (Every) Where?” school and homeschool program about water contamination, treatment, and preservation; and the “Set Sail with Science 2011” event that focused on the ecology and geology of Okanagan Lake. In addition to these seasonal programs, in 2012 the Centre was also able to purchase the permanent exhibit “Your Water Footprint” as well as host the “Water Works” exhibit at no additional rental charge. With these programs and exhibits, the Okanagan Science Centre is better able to reinforce the message with visitors and locals alike that we are all connected in the valley through our water system.
