This project enabled collaboration/networking with stakeholders, local governments, water purveyors and provincial agencies; build capacity, knowledge and understanding of local flood risk in the Central Okanagan; spatial database of flood hazard prone watercourses; development of flood hazard mapping; and identification of data gaps and areas requiring more detailed analyses.

It allowed the creation of a spatial database on flood hazard areas; maintenance and improvement, where necessary, of local flood risk management infrastructure and systems to reduce flood risk; raise the level of awareness on the flood hazard in the region; and feed into future planning and policy development on floodplain management.
